First time in 11 years of this network that a speaker got a spontaneous standing ovation
Gina Miller gave us glimpses of her life – surrounded by security people for her and her daughters, being twitter-trolled (Viscount St Davids has been sent to prison for 12 weeks for offering on twitter to pay £5,000 to anyone who would run Gina down – why wasn’t this tweet banned by twitter?) and being the butt of vile racist comments. All because she fought for something she believed in. Many of us had tears listening to her. A woman of substance, her standing ovation was well-deserved.

Dame Julia Cleverdon: Inspirational, stimulating and thought-provoking
Dame Julia Cleverdon gave a talk which ranged from her personal life to her business one which started as the only woman alongside 30 men in British Leyland! Feedback has been lyrical. Our Icebreaker worked a treat with one IT networker about to be introduced to Google. I had the impression that after this lunch networkers would waltz down St Martin’s Lane inspired with the knowledge and the ability to cope with business life.
